Paying a hospital in India from Kenya is harder than it should be.
- 1
Treatment waits for the wire
A bank transfer to India takes 5+ days to show up. The hospital starts treatment only once it has landed.
- 2
The bill comes due when you are in a ward
The balance is asked for before surgery, when you are in India and your bank is in Kenya. Your family can pay it from home, in shillings.
- 3
What if I pay and then can’t travel?
Paying before you fly feels risky. Get guaranteed refunds for the treatment in case your plan changes.

FAQ
Is this legal?
Yes. Payments go through RBI-authorised partners and reach India as an inward remittance with the right purpose code, which is how a hospital has to receive money from a patient abroad.
Do you hold my money?
No. It goes from you to a licensed payment partner, and from there to the hospital’s bank account.
What does it cost?
One fee: 1% of the payment, all in. That covers the exchange rate, bank fees and ours.
How long does it take?
The money reaches the hospital in 1 to 2 days. A bank wire usually takes 5+ days.
Can my family pay for me?
Yes. Relatives in Kenya can each send their part in shillings, by M-Pesa or bank, and it reaches the hospital as one payment in your name. That works while you are already in India too.
What if I pay and then can’t travel?
You get a guaranteed refund for the treatment if your plans change. Message Janet and she will walk you through it.
Which hospitals can I pay?
Tell us which hospital in India you are going to, and we will confirm before you pay anything.
